Betty Hendrix works in a variety of drawing media and watercolor. Her artwork is done from life or from her own photography. She has a passion for watching and photographing wildlife, landscapes, and people in search of images with a poetic quality. Betty has lived in many parts of the U.S., but retired to North Carolina to enjoy artwork fulltime. She is a charter member and past-president of the Artists League of the Sandhills in Aberdeen NC. She's an active board member and past-president of the Sandhills Photography Club in Pinehurst NC. Other memberships include the Pastel Society of NC and the Colored Pencil Society of America. Hendrix has had five solo and two two-woman shows. She teaches at the Artists League in Aberdeen. Her work is displayed in various group shows; the offices of Drs. Monroe in Pinehurst; Midland Crafters in Pinehurst; and public and private collections throughout the country. She has artwork and prints displayed and for sale on the www.paintamerica.org website. Her works have been juried into 28 national and international exhibitions and received numerous awards.
