Terry Ballard Davis lives with her family, her husband, 3 boys, and 4 dogs in Stallings, NC. Her love of animals has been a large part of her life. She is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in North Carolina. Her education consists of a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Florida and a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from the Art Institute of Atlanta. Her art career has taken her from being a commercial artist to trompe l'oeil murals and now she finally feels at home with her animal portraits. Her main emphasis is to capture a candid moment in the pet's life that shows their unique personality and beauty. She takes time taking photographs of the animals in the places where they feel most comfortable and happy. Her final portrait reflects a balance between creative composition, light, and color with an exactness in the rendering of the pet. She uses pastels because of their richness of color and blend ability. She is a current member of The Guild of Charlotte Artists and The Pastel Society of North Carolina.
