Maggie Price Three Day Landscape Workshop

The Piedmont Pastel Society is sponsoring a three day Landscape Workshop with Maggie Price. The workshop is open to beginners and experienced artists. In the workshop, you will learn how to master the techniques of this vibrant and versatile medium and watch inspiring step- by- step demonstrations from Maggie’s easel. Course Information:

  • November 10, 11, and 12
  • 9-4 daily
  • Covenant Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC
  • $400 for PPS members, $420 for Non-members (includes PPS membership)

  • Create depth and movement with color
  • Paint using a range of strokes
  • Blend colors to create luminous skies and reflections in water
  • How to under-paint with Turpenoid to achieve a bold and strong composition
  • How to loosen up
  • How to avoid the perils of photographic reference
  • How to select the right materials
  • Maggie will share any new and innovative techniques that she has most recently discovered

PSNC Photo Depot

All of us have trouble finding good reference photos from time to time, so we have decided to build a repository of copyright-free images donated by our members. Anyone who wishes to participate may bring as many 5x7 or 8x10 color prints of any photo they wish to release permission to use to our monthly meetings. There will be no cost to use the photos and therefore no compensation to the photographer. By sharing in this way, we can all become better artists. We hope you'll contribute to this resource!
