November 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, 2011 (5 days)
9 am – 4 pm (November 7 class will start at 10 am to allow time for set-up)
Covenant Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, North Carolina

Greg Biolchini is a representational realist, painting portraits, figures, landscapes, still life, and nature. He works in both oils and pastels and has won numerous awards in both mediums. He has been a PSA Master pastelist since 1988 and has taught hundreds of workshops. Visit his website at www.biolchini.com.

Greg’s five-day workshop gives artists of all levels the opportunity to learn and review basics and then to take their work to a higher level. The five days give him more opportunity to see the work of each participant and to offer them individualized instruction, so even the most advanced artists will benefit and grow. He will emphasize studio painting from photographs and will demonstrate daily. He will demonstrate wet and dry underpainting techniques, but students have the option not to use them.

Cost for current non-members it is $425. Discounts will not be given if students opt to attend fewer days.

To reserve a space, send a check made out to Piedmont Pastel Society for the $100 deposit to Debbie Rasberry, 2725 Wamath Drive, Charlotte, NC 28210. Please include your name, address, phone number, and email address. Places will be filled as deposits are received. Deposits will be refundable only if your space can be filled by another participant. A waiting list will be maintained. Full payment will be due October 1, 2011.

All of us have trouble finding good reference photos from time to time, so we have decided to build a repository of copyright-free images donated by our members. Anyone who wishes to participate may bring as many 5x7 or 8x10 color prints of any photo they wish to release permission to use to our monthly meetings. There will be no cost to use the photos and therefore no compensation to the photographer. By sharing in this way, we can all become better artists. We hope you'll contribute to this resource!
