January 21, 2012 – Artful Color owner, Damon Rando, spoke about the process of making giclées, how to get prints of your own work made, and shared a video of how they create them.

March 17, 2012 – Dr. Natalie Winters gave an inspirational presentation on creativity. See photos of this meeting.

April 21, 2012 – Learn a new way to think about color! Mona Hearne will give a presentation on the Munsell Color System used by many contemporary artists who want to achieve accurate consistent color. Adapting this system for her own work Mona will teach artists how to use this valuable tool to enhance their own paintings. This could really revitalize the way you paint! This meetings will be held at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens from 10am – 12pm.

May 19, 2012 – L. Diane Johnson, Painting the Four Seasons in Pastel. This meeting will be held at Yates Mill Park in Raleigh, 11am – 1pm. Learn how Diane approaches painting throughout the year. We will paint en plein aire in the park following the meeting, and Diane will stay with us to offer tips as we paint! Bring a sack lunch if you plan to stay and paint. PSNC Photo Depot

All of us have trouble finding good reference photos from time to time, so we have decided to build a repository of copyright-free images donated by our members. Anyone who wishes to participate may bring as many 5x7 or 8x10 color prints of any photo they wish to release permission to use to our monthly meetings. There will be no cost to use the photos and therefore no compensation to the photographer. By sharing in this way, we can all become better artists. We hope you'll contribute to this resource!
