Please bring your favorite, delectable holiday plate to share. Plan to come even if you and multiple family members are on your way from another gathering or to another gathering. Judith Cutler shared thoughts on her 13 years as a Pastel Society America member, and the experience of being part of the Jury of Selection team for PSA’s 2016 Enduring Brilliance Annual International Juried Exhibition. Our May 14 program will be about traveling with pastels and will feature Anne Kiefaber and Laura Pollak.   Anne will be showing her homemade sketchbook, as well as the tools she brought which were very portable from which she has produced some pastels and a couple of oils. She will explain her process and how she goes from a quick sketch to a painting. Ann will have a couple paintings in process, which she will bring.   Laura will be presenting some info on how she travels with Pastels… from plein air in her backyard to Japan, French Polynesia, and Italy. Luana Luconi Winner will be the speaker for the March PSNC program. This will be a lecture / demonstration of her pastel techniques for rich, classical portraits. More of this information is available in Luana’s new book “Painting Classic Portraits: Great Faces Step by Step” recently published by F&W Media / North Light Books. Last night the PSNC Publicity, Exhibition and Hospitality committees got together over a meal to discuss the slate of shows scheduled for this fall.
