Workshop: Bring Your Paintings Beautifully to Life with Oil Painters of America Master Albert Handell

Nicole’s Studio is thrilled to announce an August workshop with award winning and Internationally renowned artist Albert Hendell. Albert Handell has been featured in over thirty one-man exhibits, received over seventy prizes & awards for his works and has exhibited all over the US. He also has works in the permanent collections of numerous organizations across the country.

Handell_riverOilAlbert has also published five books on his painting and techniques and has been written up in prestigious magazines and journals including Pastel Journal, Southwest Art, Artist Magazine and American Artist. He is an Oil Painter of America Master (OPAM).

Kurt Weiser and Natalie George – Merging Mediums: A Visual Collaboration – Tonight!

Tonight! April 22 at Bev’s Fine Arts in Raleigh.

Bev’s Fine Art annual spring show will be featuring artists Natalie George and Kurt Weiser throughout the two-day long event. Along with showcasing their current works of art, Kurt and Natalie will be collaborating in a live demonstration that’s sure to captivate your attention.

They will be going “brush-to-brush” in an effort to illustrate their individual techniques. Check out our Facebook for more hints as to what the show entails!

RSVP to ensure there’s plenty of treats for you! Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.

Betty Hendrix has had three of her current pastel pieces juried into upcoming exhibitions.

The first is titled “Grey Fox” which was accepted in the Southeastern Pastel Society International Exhibition. The show will be displayed at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art – Lowry Hall, 4484 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta GA. It will hang from May through June with a reception on May 19th. Richard McKinley is the Juror of the exhibition.

She will have two pieces, titled “Carolina Marsh” and “Valley Sun” at the 2016 North Carolina Statewide Pastel Exhibition at the Museum of Art in Hickory NC. Elizabeth Mowery is the Juror for that show. The opening reception will be May 21 from 6-8:30. The show will be up until August 21.

Honored that my soft pastel, “Forever In a Day,” has been accepted into the Small Treasures Juried Show at the Cary Gallery of Artists. The exhibit will run March 24 through April 23, 2016, with the opening reception and awards ceremony Friday evening, March 25, from 6-9 p.m.

3rd Annual “Paint the Town” in Cary – Call for Artists

The Cary Arts Center is excited to announce that our Call for Artist with registration info, is now available for the 3rd Annual Town of Cary “Paint the Town” Paint Out on May 7th. Last year we had 28 NC artists participate, and many of them were new pastel artists; one of them was even awarded an honorable mention, Wendy Musser!

We have increased our maximum # to 35 artists this year, and we also have extended our paint area to include all the parks and greenways in Cary, as well as the historic sites of downtown.

Diana Coidan is the Featured Artist at Cary Gallery of Artists in Ashworth Village, 200 S. Academy St., Cary January 29th through February 23rd. There will be a Final Friday Opening Reception on January 29th from 6-9pm.

Call for Entries – 28th IAPS Juried Exhibition

IAPS is excited to announce the Call for Entries for our 28th IAPS Juried Exhibition. This exhibition will hang at Salmagundi Club of New York City – one of the preeminent art clubs in the world. Our jury is made up of some of the best in the art world – Anne Hevener, Christine Danylik Ivers, and Richard McKinley. President of PSA, Jimmy Wright, is our awards judge.

Entries are due March 20. What better way to spend your winter than creating some new paintings to wow us? We are looking forward to your submissions. Happy Pasteling!

Small Treasures 2016 Call for Artists

Submit your Small Treasures artworks to our annual exhibit. 2D work may be up to 8″ x 10″ including mat with framing no larger than 3″. 3D work may be up to 12″ in any dimension. Small Treasures is a great way to exhibit your work with members of Cary Gallery of Artists.
