PSNC announces the 2013 Annual Juried Members Exhibition at Ambleside Gallery! Placement ribbons will be awarded for the categories of Landscape, Floral and Still Life. The exhibition is open to all PSNC members in good standing. Submission deadline is Friday, February 8th, 2013. The opening reception will coincide with Greensboro’s First Friday, on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 pm and will include music and refreshments.

Calendar of Events:
January 1, 2013: Registration opens. Apply through www.callforentry.org. Digital online entry only.
March 18, 2013: Digital Entries due to Café (www.callforentry.org, online entry only) by midnight March 18. No Late entries will be accepted. Show is open only to current members of one of the three North Carolina Pastel Societies.
April 18-20, 2013: Notification of acceptance/rejection of paintings.
May 6-13 (weekdays only) – 9 am – 5 pm: Shipped paintings received after 5 pm on May 13 will not be accepted. Late paintings will be returned.
May 10, Friday, (1-4 pm) and May 11, Saturday, (10 am-2 pm): Hand delivered paintings will be accepted only during these hours.
May 18, 2013: Opening reception and awards: 6-8 pm- Hickory Museum of Art.

Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center – Call For Entries

The Exhibitions Coordinator for the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC is currently accepting submissions of original 2-D and small 3-D work in all media for consideration for the 2013 exhibition calendar.
Available galleries consist of four hallway type areas, three lobby areas, and a locked glass cabinet for small 3D work. Hundreds of viewers see the exhibit areas each day, so the potential for sales is great.
Requirements for Submissions:
1. Artists must be able to hand deliver and install their work. No shipped work will be accepted.
2. Only original work is accepted — no mechanical reproductions, giclees of original works, etc.

Nancy Clausen Exhibit

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2013
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA
North Ridge Country Club wishes to promote art and area artists, while also developing increased art appreciation within its membership. The club also intends to develop a permanent art collection in its clubhouse for members to enjoy. In order to achieve this goal, North Ridge will sponsor a juried art competition, culminating in a special event to showcase the work of the selected artists.
Jennifer Dasal, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the North Carolina Museum of Art, will serve as juror and select 25 pieces for the show from submitted artwork. The creators of those pieces will be able to offer additional work for sale at the North Ridge Country Club Art Gala February 23. Club members and their guests will attend the party to view the work and possibly add pieces to their personal collections. In addition, there will be a Purchase Award piece selected for North Ridge to hang in the club’s permanent collection. The juror will choose first, second and third place award winners, who will receive recognition at the Gala and the opportunity to display their work for a designated number of weeks at North Ridge.

Juror
Jennifer Dasal has served as Associate Curator of Contemporary Art for the North Carolina Museum of Art since 2008. She has been involved in researching, developing and implementing numerous exhibits at the Art Museum, as well as helping to organize and reinstall the museum’s permanent collection in the new West Building. In addition to curating exhibitions and researching collection and acquisition options, she frequently contributes articles to the Museum’s member magazine and blog. Ms. Dasal holds an MA in Art History from the University of Notre Dame, a BA in Art History from the University of California, Davis and has completed PhD coursework in Art History at Pennsylvania State University.

Commission
- North Ridge Country Club will retain a 15 percent commission on all sales at the Gala and related exhibits.

Art Gala February 23, 2013
Club members and guests will be invited to attend a special evening reception and sale featuring the artists selected by our juror.
- Each selected artist will have a designated booth in the North Ridge ballroom to display additional artwork for sale.
- The award winners will be announced and introduced at the Gala.
- The selected artists and one guest each may attend free of charge.
- Artists may invite additional guests for $35 apiece.
Liability
North Ridge Country Club will take every precaution against damage or theft, but will not be responsible for loss, whatever the cause. Concerned artists must provide their own insurance coverage. North Ridge Country Club reserves the right to decline any entry or withdraw any entry from the exhibition at its discretion. North Ridge Country Club also reserves the right to photograph and reproduce any entry submitted for educational or publicity purposes. Submission of an entry to the exhibition constitutes agreement of the artist to all terms and conditions in this prospectus.

The Hickory Museum will handle all sales with a 30% commission. Paintings may not be taken down before the end of the show.
No painting will be accepted that is larger when framed than 60 inches in any direction. Any framed paintings larger than this will be returned at the artist’s expense.
The workshop with Frederick Somers will be held May 20-24. We are currently looking at a location that includes lodging and meals on the Blue Ridge Parkway. More info to follow, including prospecti of the show and workshop registration forms with more complete information.
